School Policies
Beacon School is licensed by the State of Texas Department of Family and Protective Services as a childcare facility. In order to hold this license, we must meet certain minimum standards. We endeavor to always be in compliance with these standards and in many areas our standards exceed the minimum guideline. Parents are expected to help us maintain our fine record with the government agencies that regulate us.
Children Accepted
As a licensed childcare center, we may have a maximum of 49 children in the building at one time. Beacon may accept children from the age of one week to 12 years on a regular basis for full day, partial day, full week or partial week periods. We happily serve special needs children with determination of service made on an individual basis according to the child;s needs and our capabilities. We do not discriminate against any race or religion or physical or mental handicap.
Placement
Although occasionally we must group strictly by age, we believe in the value of cross-age grouping with children of different ages learning from and helping each other, much like a large family. Every child will be placed according to his/her social and academic ability. We consider parental requests, but final decisions remain with the professional staff.
